Sarah Caroline ("SC", she/her) Billings is an internationally produced playwright, librettist, and lyricist. She is from Texas and has lived in Queens, NYC since 2016. Her work has been staged locally at the Barrow Group, Cherry Lane Theater, Court Square Theater, and Club Cumming (NYC), internationally with tgLAVA (Netherlands), and at institutions including American University (Washington, DC) and Belmont University (Nashville). Finalist: Terrence McNally New Works Incubator lab, Premiere Stages’ Play Festival, and DGF Fellows. SC has been mentored by Jenny Rachel Weiner since 2023, a member of the BMI Lehman Engel Advanced Bookwriting Workshop since 2021, a founding member of Fight Club (a writer’s group for women in theater and film in NYC), and a new play reader for Orlando Shakespeare Theater. SC's work often centers women, their platonic relationships, and aims to ease the shared weight of existential shame. Sometimes in a fun way. :)
